Brexit supporter Penny Mordaunt replaces Priti Patel as UK aid secretary

Penny Mordaunt has been appointed as the new International Development Secretary after Priti Patel resigned over unofficial meetings with the Israeli ministers and businessmen.

"I'm delighted to have been appointed by the Prime Minister to be the new Secretary of State for International Development," the Independent quoted Mordaunt as saying.

"I'm looking forward to working with the team here to continue building a safer, more secure, more prosperous world for us all and really giving the British public pride in what we do," she added.
